Consumer Directed Service (CDS)
Consumer Directed Services (CDS) is the result of Senate Bill 1586, passed by the 76th Texas Legislature to provide a ‘voucher payment option’ for consumers of home & community-based programs. The program empowers consumers to make personal decisions related to the delivery of Personal Assistance Services and Respite Services within his or her current home. CDS is available to participants in the Client Managed Personal Attendant Service (CMPAS), Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS), Deaf-Blind Multiple Disabilities (DBMD), Community Based Alternatives (CBA), Primary Home Care (PHC) and Medically Dependent Children Program (MDCP). Home and Community Based Services (HCS), and Texas Home Living (TxHmL). Referrals are received through Department of Aging and Disability Services (DADS). Our final program is Personal Care Services (PCS), and referrals are through Department of State and Health Services (DSHS).
CDS gives you the ability to exercise your choice & control in the selection & management of your Personal Assistance Services, Habilitation Services, and your In-Home and Out-of Home respite services.
